East Standford Cir Structure Fire with Parties Trapped
Updated On: Nov 05, 2021
At 10:08 a.m. on Friday, November 5, 2021, a 911 caller reported a house fire with a person trapped inside on East Stanford Circle in Arapahoe County. At the same time, Local members were also working to control a brush fire nearby, just southeast of Eaglecrest High School. A member from Safety 35 was first to arrive at the house fire and observed smoke coming from the second floor. The Safety Officer made entry into the first floor of the home and with the help of Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office Deputies, rescued an adult from the first floor. That person was carried across the street to safety and after being evaluated by paramedics was found to be uninjured and did not need medical treatment.
The occupants of the home did the right thing by closing a door between the fire and a hallway, slowing the spread of smoke and flames. Local members quickly controlled the fire and confirmed that it did not extend beyond the room of origin. The SMFR Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating what caused the fire. Thank you to Local 1290 members for assisting.
