Working smoke alarms alerted a family to fire burning in their garage just after 2 a.m. on Sunday June 14th. Local members responded to the home on Big Stone Drive in Douglas County and found smoke visible on arrival. Members cut a large hole in the garage door to access the fire, which was quickly extinguished. Crews searched all areas of the home for fire extension and confirmed that the fire damage was limited to the garage. Thankfully the occupants of the home escaped without injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
