Just before 5 a.m. on Tuesday February 2, 2021, Local members responded to a house fire on Tack Drive in Parker. A person driving by called 911 to report grey smoke in the area while traveling on Motsenbocker Road. Parker Police officers responded as well and confirmed active fire on the backside of a house on Tack Dr. Members from Tower 45 and Engine 46 arrived on scene and began pulling hose lines around the side of the home and to the back of the structure for fire suppression. The fire damaged the back deck, broke a window and began extending towards the attic space. Members checked for extension in the attic, but luckily they caught the fire in time before it grew any further inside. All residents evacuated out of the house safely and no injuries occurred. SMFR Fire Investigators found the cause of the fire to be accidental due to smoking materials being placed in combustible soil. South Metro asks community members to please dispose of flammable materials in a safe way, especially in and around your homes in order to keep you and your family protected from a fire starting.
