June 16 - 17, 2021 - Although Local members are always hard at work, some shifts are busier than others. Local members work 48-hour shifts. During A-Shift's tour, members experienced a plane crash, residential structure fire (not shown), and two heavy extrications, in addition to their "normal" responsibilities of running medical emergencies, fire emergencies, rescues, and other various 9-1-1 calls.
As members from Rescue 34 (in Collapse 45 temporarily) were leaving the plane crash, they rolled up upon a vehicle that had just crashed and run off the highway. The vehicle sustained heavy damage and members extricated the party trapped quickly and also put out a small brush fire that started from the crash.
Thursday - 8:17 a.m. Local members were toned for an expanded vehicle accident that was then elevated to a motor vehicle incident requiring heavy extrication. A utility vehicle and car collided, trapping a person in the vehicle beneath the utility vehicle, against a traffic light. Working alongside members from Local 858, crews worked on stabilization, patient extraction, and hazardous material mitigation (fuel and oil).
