Mountain Brush St. Structure Fire
Posted On: Jul 27, 2021

July 22, 2021, 6:08 p.m., as a strong thunderstorm moved through the area, Local members responded to a residential structure fire on Mountain Brush Street in Unincorporated Douglas County. First arriving members from Engine 17 confirmed that the home had fire showing from the roofline and pulled initial hose lines to fight the fire and to start setting up a water supply. Members from Engine 33 finished the hydrant connection, brought a 1.75” line to the front door, and then moved inside to pull the ceiling to look for hot spots. Members ensured that the home's occupants had evacuated. With heavy lightning in the area, crews could not utilize the ladder off of Tower 34. However, with the aggressive offensive attack, crews were able to extinguish the fire quickly. No injuries were reported. Initial fire investigation points to lightning as the cause of the fire.
